Background[]
Marjorie does not have a close relationship with her daughter. April went years without speaking to her, because she had a drinking problem. Marjorie denies April's accusations of being an alcoholic, claiming that she only has an occational glass of champagne. Marjorie's drinking problem is exposed to April by Mark Nickleby, which cause Marjorie to dislike him. In Bridge Over Troubled Water she says that it is his fault that she hasn't spoken to her daughter in over a year.
In Bridge Over Troubled Water, Marjorie is sent to the hospital after a car accident. While at the ER, tests are taken and they discover that she has liver failure and is in need of a transplant.
